Family Chiropractor in Kansas City
Form Chiropractic is a family chiropractor in downtown Kansas City. We treat parents, kids, and grandparents in the same family. Force is calibrated to the patient: fingertip pressure for an infant, full diversified technique for an adult athlete. Many long-term patients started bringing their kids in once their own care got them out of pain.
What we treat
- Whole-family care under one provider
- Infants with colic, ear-infection patterns, or sleep issues
- Children with posture or growth-related discomfort
- Teenagers with sports injuries or scoliosis monitoring
- Working parents with desk-job neck or back pain
- Pregnant patients (prenatal chiropractic, dedicated page)
- Grandparents wanting to stay mobile and active
- New patients whose families are already established here
Our approach
Family care starts with a conversation about who needs care and why. Infant adjustments use fingertip pressure on the upper cervical spine and pelvis; the technique is closer to a deliberate touch than a manipulation. Kids and teens get full diversified technique calibrated to their size and tissue tolerance. Adults get the same exam-driven plan we offer any first-time patient. Dr. Tyler Smith trains his own kids as patients and applies the same care standard to yours. We coordinate across family members so visits stack efficiently when needed.
Frequently asked questions
Is chiropractic safe for infants and young children?
Yes when performed by a licensed chiropractor trained in pediatric care. Force is calibrated to the child: infant adjustments use less pressure than testing a tomato for ripeness. Dr. Tyler trained in pediatric technique and treats his own kids.
At what age can a child start chiropractic?
There is no minimum age; we see newborns for issues like colic, latching difficulty, and torticollis. The technique scales with the child.
Can the whole family book together?
Yes. We can stack appointments for multiple family members back-to-back to make the visit efficient. Call (816) 673-1188 and let the front desk know how many people we are coordinating.
Do you treat children with ADHD, sensory issues, or autism?
We do not treat ADHD, sensory processing differences, or autism as conditions. We do see kids with those diagnoses for chiropractic-appropriate concerns like neck or back pain, posture, sleep, or sports injuries. Care for neurodevelopmental conditions belongs with the appropriate medical specialists.
Will my insurance cover my whole family?
Coverage is per-individual on most plans. We can verify benefits for each family member before their first visit. We accept most major plans including BCBS, Aetna, Cigna, Humana, UHC, Medicare, and UMR.
What is the difference between a family chiropractor and a regular chiropractor?
Practical experience treating a wide age range. Adjusting a 6-month-old and a 75-year-old uses very different force and technique. Family chiropractors keep the calibration range wide. Dr. Tyler treats patients from infants through grandparents in the same week.
Is there a discount for family memberships?
We do not run a membership program. Pricing is per-visit at standard rates, with most major insurance accepted. Honest single-issue care, not a recurring subscription.
My kid is afraid of "getting cracked." Is there a gentler option?
Yes. Pediatric adjustments do not involve the sudden movements adults sometimes experience. Most kids find the visit calm and quick. Dr. Tyler explains every step before any contact, which usually resolves the fear within the first visit.
